Pillsbury Released A New ‘Galaxy’ Funfetti Icing And Cake Mix
July 12, 2019 – Baking can feel like an out-of-this-world adventure any day. But Pillsbury is taking baking to new heights with the release of its Funfetti Galaxy Frosting and Cake Mix, rocketing onto shelves in honor of the moon landing’s 50th anniversary.
You’ll be one step closer to astronaut-approved desserts with this plutonic pair. The yellow cake and cupcake mix features green, blue and purple candy bits. But every comet cake needs some interstellar icing. So, the Funfetti Galaxy Space Blue Vanilla Frosting is topped with sprinkles shaped like yellow stars, orange moons, and gray spaceships.
See? These are no meteor-ocre products and they are already available at select grocery stores. Also, while the actual anniversary of the moon landing is Saturday, July 20, there’s no limited-edition cosmic caveat, which means you can keep the moon party rolling any time you please.
Funfetti has been known to debut several event-specific icings for your Halloween, holiday, Valentine’s or Fourth of July needs. (Which theme will they introduce to the baking community next?? National Cake Day, one can only hope.) But! Here’s some gravi-tea. Per a press release, this is actually one of the first non-seasonal cake mixes from the brand since the OG vanilla cake mix launched into orbit in 1989. Who knew? Additionally, if the company’s previous products are any indication, their Galaxy products aren’t astronomically priced.
Although I wasn’t previously planning a Moon Landing Anniversary party, this duo kind of makes me want to? Consider it a total eclipse of the shopping cart (and my theme party loving heart). 🙂
